Development

Custom Development

When the business need is specific, the solution should be built around it.

When a need does not fit a standard website, an existing application or a reusable product, APLOSYA designs and develops a solution around it, without adding complexity it does not need.

When it makes sense

Some needs don't fit a standard answer.

Custom development can be the right choice in situations like these. They are typical cases, not a checklist.

  • A specific way of working

The business operates in a way that standard tools do not reflect.

  • Several steps, one tool

Steps or tools currently kept apart need to work together.

  • No existing software fits

Available software does not match the way the business works closely enough.

  • A particular rule or interaction

A business rule or interaction that off-the-shelf software cannot handle cleanly.

  • Unnecessary manual work

Existing tools leave people copying, re-entering or checking things by hand.

  • An internal process to equip

An internal process that needs a dedicated tool, matched to how people actually work.

  • An existing solution to adapt

A tool already in place needs to be shaped around a real operational requirement.

  • A need that will evolve

A solution that may need to grow as the need itself becomes clearer.

What we can build

The form follows the need.

Specific needs often appear around operations, workflows, reservations and scheduling, or internal management. Depending on the need, a solution can take one of these forms; which one always depends on the real need.

  • Custom Business Tools

Tools built for one precise part of how a business runs.

  • Internal Applications

Applications used inside the business, by the teams who do the work.

  • Workflow & Process Tools

Tools that organise a sequence of work and the steps between people.

  • Management Systems

Systems that help follow and manage what is planned, in progress and done.

  • Specific Business Features

A business feature designed where no standard one does the job.

  • Custom Digital Experiences

Websites or digital experiences with specific functional needs.

Built around the real workflow

Start from how the work is done, not from the technology.

From need to working solution, the starting point is the way the business actually operates. The scope stays useful and understandable, and grows only when the need does.

  1. 01

    Understand the need

What is not working today, and for whom.

  2. 02

    Understand the workflow

How the work actually moves between people, tools and steps.

  3. 03

Define what actually needs to be built

Separate what is essential from what can wait, or does not need building at all.

  4. 04

    Design the solution

Shape the screens and the steps around the people who will use them.

  5. 05

    Develop

Clean, structured development, in steps that can be checked.

  6. 06

    Test

Try it on real work, with the people concerned.

  7. 07

    Deliver

Hand over a working tool that does its job.

  8. 08

    Improve

Adjust from real use, where real use shows it is needed.

Not everything needs custom software

The goal is not to build more software. It is to build the right solution.

APLOSYA does not turn every problem into a specific development. Depending on the need, something else may fit better:

  • An existing solution

When a tool that already exists covers the need, it is usually the better choice.

  • A website

When the need is to present, inform or engage, a well-built website is often enough.

  • A business application

When the need is operational, an application built around the company's processes.

  • An existing product

When a product already addresses the problem, it can be the simplest answer.

  • A simpler solution

Sometimes a lighter tool, or a change in how things are done, is enough.

Examples of real needs

Needs that started from real work.

Two cases from APLOSYA's work. Neither is presented as a finished or off-the-shelf product.

  • Hotel Operations

Hospitality · Cleaning Planning · In development

The need. Rooms, reservations, reception, housekeeping and maintenance all depend on the same information, shared between different roles.

The solution. An operations application for hotels whose scope covers establishments, rooms, reservations, reception, housekeeping, maintenance and reporting.

  • Restaurant Ordering

Restaurants · Use case under study

The need. Orders taken at the table have to reach the kitchen, the bar and the till without being written out again.

The solution. A server selects menu items on a phone and confirms the order, which is then sent to the kitchen, the bar and the till, with tickets printed where the restaurant's setup requires it.

Custom development and other activities

Three activities, different starting points.

A description, not a ranking: each activity starts from a different kind of need.

  • Custom Development

When a custom project becomes something more

Sometimes a specific need exists elsewhere too.

Some solutions stay specific to one business. Some answer a one-off need. Some reveal a recurring problem that could, eventually, become a reusable product. It is a possible evolution, never a guarantee.

  1. 01

    Real problem

A concrete need, met in one business.

  2. 02

    Specific development

A solution built for that context.

  3. 03

    Field validation

Used in real conditions, where it has to prove itself.

  4. 04

    Improvement

Refined from what real use shows.

  5. 05

    Reusable product

When the need proves shared, shaped into a product.

What matters

Principles, not promises.

Design principles behind every custom solution. They guide the work; they are not measured guarantees.

  • Simple

No more complexity than the need requires: custom does not mean complicated.

  • Properly built

Code that stays clear for whoever maintains it next.

  • Secure

Access and data protected in proportion to what the solution handles.

  • Efficient

It removes steps rather than adding them.

  • Maintainable

A structure that can be read, corrected and extended over time.

  • Adapted to the people who use it

Shaped around the roles and habits of its users.

Related activities

Each activity answers a different kind of need, and a project can move from one to another as the need evolves.

The APLOSYA approach

Technology should make business simpler.

Specific or not, a solution only has value if it stays useful, understandable and matched to the real need.

  • Simple

Solve the need, not every imaginable case.

  • Properly built

Built so that the next change does not mean a rewrite.

  • Secure

Protection designed in from the start, never added as an afterthought.

  • Efficient

Less time spent on the tool, more on the work itself.
